We have been coming to the Highlands of Scotland for over 12 years and in 2015 decided to make the big move. We sold up in Cheshire and after months of searching found Ceol Mor and felt it would make an ideal B & B. We hope you will enjoy your stay and even return again to visit us in the Highlands.
Kyle of Sutherland
Ceol Mor (pronouced Keyoll More, roughly!) overlooks the Kyle of Sutherland. From the house you can watch the Kyle flow both ways, with tidal waters flowing well beyond our viewpoint. The Kyle is fed by the rivers Oykel, Shin, Cassley and Carron and are well-known for wild salmon fishing in Scotland. There is abundant wildlife in the area and from the house you can sometimes see a variety of deer, birds of prey and other birds, (we recently spotted a Redpoll). One of our latest sightings was a pine marten on the bird table, part of the mustelids family.
Breakfast at Ceol Mor is a relaxed affair with magnificent views over the Kyle of Sutherland. We offer a variety of cereals or porridge, fruit and yoghurt. A cooked breakfast is available between 8am and 9am made with our freshly laid eggs, you are welcome to collect them yourself! We endeavour to source our products locally with our bacon, sausages and black pudding coming from our local butcher. If you would rather have a lighter option croissants, toast, jam and a selection of continental meats and cheeses are available from 7am by prior arrangement. We do ask our guests to order their breakfast the night before to help with our planning. If you have any special dietary requirements please do let us know and we can then accommodate your needs.
From 4pm to 5.30pm we offer a complimentary afternoon tea for our guests. Why not relax in the Sun Lounge and soak up the views or weather permitting we have a wonderful patio, which is a sun trap for enjoying home made cakes or scones.
Although we do not presently offer evening meals there are many places in the area you can eat out. If you would like more information please visit our list of places to eat here. If you would like us to book you a table or have any questions please do ask. For those guests who arrive by bicycle or on foot, please note that the closest evening eating establishments are approximately 6 miles away. If you wish to arrive with your own meals that simply need heating, we are happy to do this in our kitchen oven for you and lay a place at the dining table. Regretfully we can only offer this service to cyclists or walkers.
